According to the public relations of the Farabi Cinema Foundation, the film "The Gambler," directed by Mohsen Bahari and produced by Sajjad Nasrollahi-Nasab, will be present as the only official representative of Iranian cinema in the competition section of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Film Festival, in the city of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The film is a production of the Farabi Cinema Foundation, and its distribution is handled by the Foundation's International affairs section. "The Gambler" had previously been present at the Cannes Film Market and had earlier made its way to the competition section of the "Beyond the Lake" International Film Festival in North Macedonia.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Film Festival is a cultural event held within the framework of the regulations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, bringing together filmmakers and cinematic works from member states including China, Russia, India, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, along with observer countries, and provides a platform for cultural and artistic exchange among regional countries.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Film Festival will be held from July 16 to 19 in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
