The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia in Iran met with the Managing Director of Farabi Cinema Foundation
The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia, Dragan Todorović., Visited Farabi Cinema Foundation on Monday and met with Alireza Tabesh, Managing Director of Farabi Cinema Foundation.

According to Farabi Cinema Foundation’s PR department, during the meeting, Tabesh, the MD of Farabi Cinema Foundation, welcomed the Serbian ambassador and reviewed the history of cinematic relations between the Serbian National Film Center and Farabi Cinema Foundation.

While referring to the memorandum of understanding signed between the National Film Center of Serbia and Farabi Cinema Foundation, Dragan Todorović , Ambassador of Republic of Serbia stressed the importance of cultural and artistic activities, especially cinematic cooperation. Emphasizing on the good relations between the two countries, he welcomed joint productions and announced his readiness to cooperate and assist in accelerating and advancing joint projects.

Referring to the long history of cooperation between festivals, especially Isfahan International Film Festival for Children and Youth and Fajr International Film Festival with specialized festivals and institutions of Serbian cinema, Alireza Tabesh, Managing Director of Farabi Cinema Foundation emphasized on the expansion of cinematic relations and cooperation based on the memorandum.

Enumerating the many problems in promoting joint productions, he said: Our serious will is to facilitate the process of joint production with other countries and in the past years this process has been established in Farabi Cinema Foundation and we hope that our project between Republic of Serbia  and Iran will be executed as soon as possible. 

Describing Iran as a friendly and cohesive country, the Serbian ambassador said: "The presence of the Speaker of the Serbian Parliament as a high-ranking official and representative of our country in the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of Iran is a sign of Serbia's interest in continuing and expanding relations between us."

 Raed Faridzadeh, FCF's Head of International Affairs, and Fahimifar, representative of I.R Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present.

To expand cinematic cooperation between Iran and Serbia, Farabi Cinema Foundation and the National Cinema Center of Serbia signed a memorandum of understanding in Feburary  2016.
