Synopsis:
Thirty-five-year-old Sara is a well-respected nurse working in a hospital in Tehran. She does her best to relieve patients from their pain and suffering, even if that involves euthanizing people with incurable diseases. One day Sara is asked to look after a brain-dead patient near the Caspian Sea, where it is said the pink whale of local lore has returned after hundreds of years. The sign which encourages Sara to keep her patient alive…Will she be able to?
Director’s Profile:
Born in 1973 in Hamedan, the critically acclaimed Iranian filmmaker Majid Barzegar has been a major force behind the development and production of a great number of Iranian independent short and feature films. As a writer, director and producer most of Barzegar’s films and short films have been awarded and showcased at prestigious international film festivals including Berlinale, San Sebastian, Rotterdam, São Paulo, Thessaloniki and many more. Majid Barzegar has attended Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) as a producer for three times in these last five years and the last attendance was with “Leakage” in 2019. He also attended Cinefondation of Cannes Film Festival 2018 with “Like a Good Kid”. The last photo exhibition of Majid Barzegar in title of “Time-Lapse” was held on CAMA gallery in London.
