I am from Kurdistan… When they dropped chemical bombs on Halabja, I was twenty. I was going to enter the university. Disturbed and dazzled by the photos taken from this human disaster, I made up my mind. Instead of university, I went to warfronts. But I never gave up my love for studying cinema. Very soon, two years of military service was finished, but every single day, I was thinking of the horrifying tragedy in Halabja. I hoped that one day I could make a film regarding this painful event.
